The fact that these mistakes are still present in religions after decades, hundreds, and even thousands of years speaks volumes to the methodology that must be adopted by religion. Namely, to never admit fault and to suppress critics.

The secular world prefers to have an evidence-based approach to the phenomena that we have observed and measured. Sure, mistakes happen, but they can be (and are) corrected as more evidence is uncovered and research made.
